Inspirational charity in the cloud with Composite C1

Phil Packer is an amazing man. Following his injury in 2008, he has devoted his time to supporting charities and in particular, young people, by completing a series of physical challenges including rowing the English Channel, walking the London Marathon in 14 days (and a year later in 26 hours), hauling himself up El Capitan (4250 pull-ups in 4 days) and is currently walking 2012 miles throughout every county in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

In 2009 he was the recipient of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year and Helen Rollason Award and the Pride of Britain Fundraiser of the Year. In 2011 he launched his own charity organization, the British Inspiration Trust (BRIT), for young people post-trauma with a vision to build a Centre of Inspiration.

Supported by Inspirational Figures

The British Inspiration Trust is backed by numerous inspirational figures who have all pledged to spend time with young people when Phil builds the BRIT Centre.

Among the inspirational figures are Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Sir Richard Branson, Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver and Jeremy Clarkson.

A Composite C1 solution in the cloud

Because of Phil Packer's enormous popularity with the British Public, the official website of the British Inspiration Trust is stormed by thousands of visitors each time he appears on television or completes another one of his incredible feats.

That is why he chose Composite C1 as the CMS behind www.britishinspirationtrust.org.uk and www.philpacker.com

Cloud power = fast and budget friendly

Built by RequirementOne, the website utilizes some of the awesome cloud functions supported by Composite C1 to handle the incoming traffic.

By using Windows Azure as a cloud host, the website is able to scale the number of servers hosting the website according to traffic. In periods with increased traffic the number of servers will increase and as soon as the traffic drops so does the number of servers.

The result is a fast and smooth website that never consumes more power than needed and is able to run on a tight budget.

Composite C1 is perfect for charity

As a free open source CMS Composite C1 is perfect for charity organisations such as the British Inspiration Trust looking for a cost efficient yet powerful CMS that can help them reach a broader audience and the cloud offers them a secure and easy way to handle traffic.
